mojoPortal, the fast-growing open source content management system (CMS) built using Microsoft's .NET C#, is a great out-of-the-box solution for building web sites.

A one hour live interactive training session with mojoPortal consulting partner David Dean. This is a live, without a net session where I will walk you through the process of setting up your own custom projects for implementing custom features that plug into mojoPortal. You will learn the techniques you need to keep your custom code separate from the core of mojoPortal and you will have an opportunity to ask questions. So mark your calendar and join us for this free event, you won't want to be late.

Ideally you will already have mojoPortal source code checked out from TortoiseHG so you can follow along with me. I will be sharing my desktop and walking you through the steps to setup a set of custom projects for your own development. If time allows I will also show how to take advantage of our installation/upgrade system to install and upgrade your custom features.

Thanks to all who provided feedback on the first scheduled instance of this class. I wanted to let you know that we have just releases an update to the software as well as added some hints for teachers to address your comments. Below is a recap of the most requested feedback and the solutions:

  1. Timezone Issues: Some users were unaware of the timezone set in their profile and as such were receiving communications with the incorrect time. We have added the timezone to the registration so future users will be able to set the time zone immediately and receive the proper times.
  2. Recorded Sessions: We have implemented the ability to record future classes. This will be at the teachers discretion. Should a teacher wish to record a session and make it available, they are now able to do so. Teachers will be able to charge for, and share in the profit from, any recorded sessions.
  3. Audio Quality: We have updated the teacher FAQ and recommend that teachers use either a land line or a headset, and that during presentation portions, that they mute the audience.
  4. When submitting class ratings, allow comments: This has been implemented in certain areas. Comments also are now available in forums for every course.
  5. MORE CLASSES: We are working with Joe to set up the next session, and are looking for other mojo experts to offer classes as well.
